Butchart Gardens Trip
Friday July 30th thru Tuesday August 3

Friday . Drive to Vancouver
This is a half day trip but we will take a full day

Visit in the Skagit, Bellingham maybe, Deception Pass?.
Stay 2 nights in Vancouver Riviera Hotel, downtown, Fri & Sat night

July 31
Saturday. Vancouver.
This is a "European & Asian" style city. Visit thing in whatever order we want.

Granville island. Fun shopping, buy tea, etc.
Chinatown. Eat DimSum
Robson Street, including Death by Chocolate
Stanley Park & waterfronts
Breakfast at Sophie's Cosmic Cafe.

August 1
Sunday. Vancouver & travel to B&B

Morning finish up in Vancouver
Afternoon BC Ferry to Victoria Island
Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay Ferry puts us near Butchart
Stay 2 nights on V Island, near the Gardens
Seagulls Loft B&B, waterfront, Sunday & Mon nights

August 2
Monday. In The Gardens!

Butchart Gardens. All day and into the evening.
Still staying at the B&B

August 3
Tuesday. Return home (to Don's) via the San Juans or the Olympic Peninsula.

Washington Ferry from Sidney to Anacortes. Only 2 choices, sorry!
Or Coho Ferry to Port Angeles & across via Dungeness spit
Back to Renton!

Yakima River Float Trip
Saturday August 7th & Sunday August 8th

We're thinking a one day trip but block out weekend.

Take raft (will buy from Costco on Monday), and get some inner tubes & tie them together and float down the Yakima River Canyon. Lots of people do it, it's slow and fun. I've driven down checking put-in and takeout places twice.

Very hot over there! Can keep drinks in the water.

ALSO need vests for everyone and maybe a wet bag for food.

Yakima River Map. I am thinking Umtanum to Roza although East Cle Elum to Ellensburg is also a possibility. That is Class II. Umtanum to Roza is, I think, Class I. Could do both, maybe.

Ocean Shores

Wide shores, cool weather, lots of wind for kites, crab pots, mopeds, sand castles. Not the types of beaches to lay around and sunbathe but tons to do.

Wolftown! Visit

Wolftown! is a federally sanctioned wolf haven.

T. Martino who I know and who runs the place says "Come on over and visit". T also has a couple of dogs like mine - malamutes - and adopted one of them from me. This is also a horse haven and raptor haven where T rescues horses, and big birds.
