Woolly is a gentle giant who puts us in mind of the Lollipop Guild in Oz as he looks rough and tough but is actually the biggest clown in the yard. He seems to be one of the old style Alaskan malamute dogs that were the workhorses of the Jack London era and is far and away the most playful malamute this foster home has ever had. In fact, he is his foster moms all-time favorite foster dog.

Woolly also seems to be quite good with small children, works to fit into the malamute pack here, (and just loves those flirty girls!) and repays human love and attention with total devotion. He is not trained with cats as he is too interested - but will turn away when told NO firmly. Was not leash trained either but is learning his limits very quickly and easily.

Woolly has not challenged even a 4 1/2 foot sturdy fence, but that does not mean he is lazy or slow. He is a massive and powerful malamute!

Woolly is patient and very very loving and oh-so-delighted to be able to do simple things like play loose in a pasture.  He is the most playful malamute his foster family has ever had!

Woolly will repay your love and attention with total devotion.

UPDATE: Woolly has blossomed SO much in rescue. He had probably been chained out all his life and now just LOVES the backyard where he can run and play to his hearts content. He is VERY loving and turning into Mr. Personality.
He now has discovered:
Backyards (yeehaw!) How to make his wishes known (beat on the kennel when it is time to go out - he does NOT like to pee or poop in his kennel) Hungry! carries his (or any other dogs) food bowl around just in case someone should be looking. wading pools (yippee!) Toys - he gleefully plays with any and all lime green tennis balls (about 2 chomps worth). And always he does that great malamute run and play thing with people and other dogs if they want and then that sweet malamute lean-on-me when he is thru.

Woolly truly is his foster Mom's all-time favorite foster dog.  E-mail snowdog4me@yahoo.com for more information or to set up a visit with Woolly.
